Massage

  • Do you feel you just need some time to treat yourself?

  • Do you constantly feel stressed out?

  • Are you having trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep?

  • Do you play a lot of sports or exercise often?

  • Are all your muscles aching?

  • Are you just after a pick-me-up?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then massage is the best option for you.

“I am probably one of Michelle’s veterans having recently received my 50th treatment from her. I began occasional osteopathy during my first pregnancy when I began suffering with lower back pain and realised osteopathy was an excellent way of ‘future proofing’ skeletal care. I rarely need osteopathy now, but this is largely because a monthly massage with Michelle ensures all ‘working parts’ are functioning to their maximum capacity. Massage with a qualified osteopath provides the best in both therapy and relaxation- a perfect combination from an amazingly skilled woman; who I couldn’t recommend more highly.”

Why is massage good for you?

Massage can have a beneficial effect of the musculoskeletal, nervous, and respiratory systems, and on the local and general circulation of the blood and lymphatic (body cleaning) systems. Massage treatment may enhance blood flow, thereby increasing oxygen delivery to the affected muscle and restoring the correct balance within the tissues.

Massage treatment has the potential to influence fluid movement within the tissues, thereby facilitating muscle waste product clearance. Another benefit of massage treatment is relaxation, which can aid in promoting normal recovery.

What type of massage do you need?

There are four main types of massage offered , Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue and Pregnancy massage. The first is primarily for offered for its health and relaxation benefits, whilst Sports is more usually for the management of a specific injury. Deep Tissue works mainly on the body’s connective tissue and Pregnancy massage to alleviate the physical and emotions stress of being pregnant.
